Cookie Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
This policy explains how wiganwetbelts.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies such as browser storage. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. The website is operated by Voodoo Motorworks Ltd, trading as Wigan Wetbelts, whose company details are at the foot of this page.
1. What these technologies are
Cookies are small files a website can store on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, let a site keep small pieces of information in your browser. They can be set by us (first party) or by another company whose tools we use (third party), and they can last only for your visit (session) or for a set period (persistent).
2. Our approach to consent
We only load advertising and measurement technology after you have agreed to it. When you first visit you are asked to choose. Nothing in the marketing category loads until you click Accept. If you reject, or simply do not choose, none of it loads at all.
Some storage does not need consent because it is either strictly necessary for the site to work or only remembers how the site looks to you. This reflects current UK rules under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, which from 5 February 2026 no longer requires consent for this limited, low risk storage. Anything used for advertising still requires your consent, and always will on this site.
3. What we use
Strictly necessary and appearance (no consent required)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| wwb.consent | Local storage, first party | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every visit | Until you clear it |
| wwb.theme | Local storage, first party | Remembers your light or dark mode preference | Until you clear it |
| Quote form backup | Local storage, first party | Temporarily saves your quote form entries so they are not lost if the page reloads | Cleared shortly after use |
This information stays on your device and is not sent to us or anyone else.
Marketing (loaded only with your consent)
| Provider | Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta (Facebook) | Meta Pixel, cookies such as _fbp | Measures how our adverts and website perform and helps show relevant ads. Meta acts as a joint controller for this activity. | Up to about 90 days |
The Meta Pixel is the only advertising technology on this site. We do not use Google Analytics, and no other analytics or tracking tools run on the site. Meta's own privacy information is at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
4. Managing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your mind at any time. Use the Cookie settings link, which also appears in the footer of every page, to accept or reject the marketing category whenever you like. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent: turning marketing off stops the pixel and clears its cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
5. Changes
If we change the technologies we use, we will update this page and the date above.
